What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion by DermaGenesis uses medical grade crystals to remove the dead, outermost layer of skin. The skin exfoliation process reveals new, living skin cells that are soft, smooth and receptive to nutrients.
What conditions does it treat?
Microdermabrasion is used to treat and/or diminish:
- Fine lines
- Sun-damaged skin
- Acne-prone skin
- Oily skin
- Dry or patchy skin
- Superficial age spots
Why choose microdermabrasion?
A safe, non-invasive, and virtually painless procedure, microdermabrasion is an excellent alternative to lasers and chemical peels. The benefits of microdermabrasion include:
- Less pain or discomfort
- Minimal risk
- Suited for all skin types
- No anaesthesia required
- No recovery time
- No hazardous chemicals
The microdermabrasion procedure is performed under the supervision of a certified therapist, so you can be confident that you will be treated with the utmost care.
A single Medical Microdermabrasion treatment can remove as many dead skin cells from the outer layer of skin which a three glycolic treatments would require
Instant, visible results as the treatment does not require any recovery time
The treatment encourages better cellular renewal which improves elasticity, overall texture and reduces signs of ageing.
The vacuum and medical grade crystal controls are flexible, so patients can tailor their treatment for their individual skin type needs
Medical Microdermabrasion is suitable for all skin types
Following Medical Microdermabrasion the skin is in a better condition to absorb anti-ageing and acne creams
Medical Microdermabrasion can also be used in combination with Laser Rejuvenation treatment
How does it work?
The procedure is performed by using a hand piece that the therapist passes over the skin two or three times. This safely and evenly removes the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of the skin. The underlying epidermis is also stimulated by the abrasion and the vacuum. This promotes the generation of new collagen, which thickens the dermis and improves resistance to the effects of aging.
