Anti Wrinkle Treatment

When your skin loses elasticity, fine lines and wrinkles start to show. It’s a normal part of ageing — and usually a sign of a life well-lived, as sun exposure, stress and alcohol all speed things up. Medical practitioners have used anti-wrinkle treatments for more than four decades to reduce these lines and help stop new ones forming.

Anti wrinkle treatment relaxes the facial muscles and limits movement, making it harder for lines to deepen or new wrinkles to form. The product uses a purified protein, and our clinicians inject it in a series of small, precise points across the face. We use a sprinkle technique to avoid frozen features and create a refreshed, natural look.

Anti-wrinkle treatments use a natural, purified protein that our clinicians inject directly into the facial muscles. The treatment relaxes these muscles to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and by limiting movement, it also helps stop future lines from developing or deepening.

You can use it on multiple areas of the face, including the forehead, eyes, brow, nose, jaw and glabella (frown lines). The procedure is incredibly versatile and also supports several medical needs. Although many people know it as an anti-wrinkle treatment, it also helps treat migraines and works brilliantly for excessive sweating.

The first step is to have a complimentary consultation to talk through the procedure and any concerns you may have. Our experienced clinicians will take a full medical history and offer advice on aftercare. We’ll answer all your questions and help you decide whether anti-wrinkle treatments are right for you.

The treatment itself

Anti-wrinkle treatments are an efficient treatment, and our expert technique ensures it’s as comfortable an experience as possible.

Using a small needle, the clinician will administer a series of injections into the muscles of your face. This only takes a few minutes, so you’ll experience minimal discomfort. After two weeks, we’ll review the results and add a top-up treatment if necessary.

Anti-wrinkle treatments have been in medical use for more than four decades and are known to be a safe and effective treatment. When administered by an experienced medical professional, there are minimal risks, and it will only affect the relevant muscles – not reaching any other part of the body. It’s also a relatively quick procedure with minimal recovery, so you’ll be back to your daily routine in next to no time.

While many people experience no side effects at all, there are a few risks associated with anti-wrinkle treatments. The most common is a mild bruising to the site of the injection, which is often short-lived. Some people also experience mild headaches, but again, these usually pass within 24 hours. Other complications can include infection, drooping brow, and allergic reactions.

We’ll discuss all these side effects and potential risks in detail in advance of the treatment at your complimentary face-to-face consultation.

Most people carry on their day as normal after treatment. It’s best to take it easy, avoiding strenuous exercise, extreme heat (like a sauna), alcohol, or any other facial treatments for 24 hours. But after that, you can return to your usual routine.

We also suggest keeping your facial muscles active after the procedure to help the treatment take effect. You should also avoid any unnecessary touching of your face for 24-hours.

In advance of any injectable procedure, you’ll receive a thorough consultation with an experienced medical practitioner, who will advise you on all precautions and aftercare requirements.

You should avoid anti-wrinkle treatment if any of the following are relevant:

  • The injection site is infected
  • You are allergic to any of the ingredients
  • You have known bleeding disorders
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have a neuromuscular disorder (e.g. myasthenia gravis)

Our clinicians can advise you on alternatives if required and will talk you through these risks as well as any other concerns you may have.

Anti-wrinkle treatments can cost anything between £199-£500 depending on the area you are looking to treat. We offer complimentary consultations in advance of all procedures, where you can discuss any concerns you have and create a treatment plan.
